The presence of pollen, especially during certain times of the year, can wrack havoc to my body. My allergy to pollen can be so bad that I resorted to keeping my windows closed most of the time. I realized this can’t be a good solution to my allergy, knowing that closing the windows stifle ventilation. I heard about the Blueair 402 Air Purifier some time back but had hesitated as I wasn’t sure whether it’s the right air cleaner for me.

After much consideration, I decided to give it a try. I knew that the cleaner was different from similar ones in the market due to its use of advanced technology and filters.

Knowing that the Blueair 402 uses advanced HEPASILENT filters to trap 99.97 micron particles in the air reassured me that this is the solution to my allergy problem. I was also attracted to the fact that there is kind of a ‘double-filter’ mechanism working in this air purifier. Should the HEPASilent filter fail to capture pollen, mold pores or dust mites, then these will be lured by the electrostatic charge to an enclosed ion space. The charge also enables the particles to cling more tightly to the filter.

The Blueair 402 air purifier also uses a non-toxic polypropylene filter, which is covered with the smallest of fibres so that it can efficiently clear toxic particles out of the air. I believe that it is the combination of these different filters and the electrostatic charge that makes the air purifier stand above the rest.

A drawback with the Blueair 402 is that it can only take care of a 365 square feet space. I understand that the way to get round this is to get more than one unit. But doing this means space must be created.

I already have one unit but thinking of getting another as I think about how ‘silent’ this purifier works and how energy-saving it is, using less power than a 20-watt light bulb!

Besides, how can I ignore the fact that my allergies have truly disappeared since I got the purifier!
