One of the most prominent benefits about this oven is that it is able to roast all types of meet including beef, lamb and even chunkier ones like fat-breasted turkey and chicken. The oven’s “Circle of Heat” works such that it cooks on all sides, unlike conventional ovens which usually cook from the bottom. For those who have the Nesco Roaster as their one and only oven, aluminium foil can be used to cover the meat as it cooks in the roaster. Once done, remove the aluminium foil and let the meat cook further for a few minutes, just to let the skin go crisp.
Another thing to note about this product is that it requires a “burn in” process to get rid of the protective oil used during manufacture, before you can start using it. You would see smoke as a result of this process but there’s no need to call 911. Follow the instructions in the manual closely and please take heed that the “burn in” process” is best carried out outside of your house. Once this is done, the roaster would be good to go in about an hour.
