Tassimo Reviews
Most Tassimo reviews are skewed towards the benefits of the coffee machines alone but neglect to inform you on other details which might be of interest to you.
Don’t get us wrong. We’re not saying that you should be suspicious of reviews by users who are genuinely happy with their purchases. In fact, we don’t deny the real benefits of Tassimo machines that many users can attest to.
However, we are saying that, just like any other purchase, you should be adequately informed of all aspects of these machines if you’re really thinking about getting one.

Two of the most popular Bosch-manufactured Tassimo coffee maker models are the tassimo t45 (Bosch TAS4511UC) and the Tassimo t65 (Bosch TAS6515). The red Bosch TAS4513UC is equivalent to the TAS 4511UC except that it’s well, red in color.
These two single-serve models, although similar (with the t45 being the predecessor of t65), have slight differences in that the t65 has the following add-on features :
- Multi-lingual Liquid Crystal Display – that provides users instructions on how to use the machine in five languages (English/ French/German/Italian/Spanish)
- Cup-stand light – provides illumination above the cup stand (mainly useful when your kitchen is relatively dark)
- Auto switch-off when machine is not in use for more than five minutes.
Tassimo Reviews – What Users Like
Our findings on Tassimo reviews reveal that people generally like these coffee makers for the following reasons :
- Its versatility in making an array of hot beverages : coffee, tea, hot chocolate, espresso, cappuccino and lattes, pre-packaged in “T-Discs”. Each T-Disc makes a cup of your choice of beverage.
- Ease of use – Once the machine’s tank is filled with water, all you need to do is pop a T-Disc in the machine, close a lid, hit a button, and you’d be ready to enjoy your drink in a couple of minutes.
- Ability to produce flavorful and strong coffee (a plus to users who prefer such types of coffee) as the drinks can be customized to your liking, thanks to its bar-code technology.
The bar code technology is at work when you insert a T-Disc (Tassimo machines use T-Discs to make the hot beverages as compared to Keurig machines which use K-Cups) is inserted into the coffee maker.
The machine then scans a barcode on the disc which subsequently “instructs” the brewing system on the level of water to use, the temperature to be applied and the timing of the brew cycle.
In fact, it is the ability of the Tassimo machines to conduct the above process that allow them to brew great-tasting, strong coffee.
This feature also enables the machines to make other beverages such as cappuccino and latte (with the availability of milk T-Discs). This is the reason why Tassimo has called its new breed of machines the “brewbot” – ability to concoct a variety of hot beverages.
Tassimo Reviews – The Not-so-Great Stuff
All considered, it’s really difficult to fault the Tassimo machines, especially the newer ones manufactured by Bosch.
Having said that however, there are consumers who feel more can be done for the T-Discs which are “uniquely Tassimo”.
Currently, the T-Discs offer great selection of coffees such as those from Gevalia, Maxwell House and NABOB.
For Tea Lovers
However, tea lovers have lamented that the selection is rather limited with earl grey and green tea being the common ones in many countries.
For Starbuck Lovers
As Starbucks has recently switched camps – to produce K-Cups for Keurig machines, Tassimo owners created a hue over the cease of their home-made Starbucks cuppa. Some felt disappointed as they had bought the Tassimo machines to be able to enjoy Starbucks coffee at home in the first place!
(As of this post, we understand that Starbucks T-Discs will no longer be available as of March 2011)
But we reckon that unless you really can’t go through your day without that Starbucks cuppa, then the choice of a Tassimo coffee maker is really a no-brainer especially if you enjoy strong tastes of coffee.
Our Take
Through and through, Tassimo reviews received from users are largely positive, particularly if we narrow it down to the Bosch-manufactured ones.
The previously Braun-produced Tassimo machines are found to be loud and not as user-friendly as its newer counterparts.
The final question before you decide is to ask yourself if you are a strong coffee drinker and whether you have a need for other types of hot beverages, besides tea and hot chocolate.
Just bear in mind that the Tassimo coffee makers allow you that flexibility of creating six to seven different types of beverages, which may come in handy if you have guests or relatives over.
