The Coway AP-1512 HH is about 18 1/2 inches tall it’s about 17 inches wide. On the side it’s about 9 1/2 inches deep in at about 12 1/2 lbs.  The unit  feature a washable pre-filter a fibrous carbon filter and also features a HEPA Filter.

Air enters the unit through the sides and air also entrance through the bottom.  The air goes through the washable pre filter which consist of a carbon filter and a HEPA Filter and then it finally exits  through the top.

The unit has 3 fan speeds low medium and high output and cover approximately 250 cubic feet per minute. There is a single fan that pulls the air into the unit and then pushes the cleaned air out to the top.

So this Coway AP-1512HH air purifier,  for it’s price it definitely has a substantial amount of output. The output is going to play large role in terms of what size room can be cleaned by this purifier. So at about 250 CFM, this unit is able to clean the air and rooms up to about 300 square feet. In terms of output the Coway AP-1512HH air purifier definitely is it’s strength.

Most of the units on the market tends to be much less than that especially cheaper unit tend to be in the 80- 120 CFM range.

One the best feature about this unit is the energy efficiency. If you’re looking for a highly energy efficient unit and a unit with low noise output especially for the amount of total output this is a very strong option for you.

If you are planning on using this unit in a bedroom situation and any situation where you want you have all the lights off in a room, the green light on the control panel cannot be turn off.  So this maybe one of the features that my annoy people who likes to total darkness.

A four-stage filtering mechanism is used in the Coway AP-1512HH air purifier. A pre-filter, activated carbon filter, True HEPA filter, and ioniser are all included. The fine mesh pre-filter is the initial stage, and it helps to remove bigger pollutants from the air such as mould spores, dust, pet hair, and pollen. The pre-filter is washable and permanent, which is all you need to know.

The deodorization filter comes after the pre-filter. The filter, as its name implies, uses chemical adsorption to eliminate smells and VOCs. This activated carbon-infused filter sheet helps to freshen your indoor air. However, compared to a pellet-based carbon filter, this form of carbon filter is less effective. The carbon filter has a six-month lifespan.

The True HEPA filter is the next step in the process. It captures fine dust, smoke particles, and pathogens, and removes 99.97 percent of impurities down to 0.3 microns in size. The HEPA filter lasts for 12 months. Check the status of the filter to see if it needs to be replaced.

On the purifier, the HEPA filter and the carbon filter each have their own filter status indicators.

There’s also an ioniser. It produces negative ions, which help to filter the air by bringing pollutants closer to the earth. Ionisers can sometimes produce ozone. However, you have complete control over how you make use of it.

In built sensor

The particle sensor measures contaminants in the ambient air in real time. The sensor gives a signal to the purifier if the concentration is too high, and the purifier changes the fan speed to keep the air clean. To use this feature, make sure the fan speed is set to auto.

Noise level

At its highest fan speed, the Coway AP-1512HH air purifier produces 53.8 decibels of noise. While this is louder than regular household noise (40 decibels), it is quieter than the noise generated during a normal conversation (60 dB).

When the purifier is set to the lowest speed, it runs quietly. It is rated at 24.4 decibels. To give you an idea, rustling leaves generate a noise of around 30 dB.

There’s also an Eco mode on the purifier, which switches it off after 30 minutes of no contaminants being detected. The Eco mode is engaged when the purifier is set to Auto mode.
